My Rankings:
My Playoff Predictions:
Alabama
Oregon
Georgia
UC
I think the Big 10 will miss out due to the teams beating up on each other and none of them coming out undefeated even though they may be better than some of the above teams.
Heisman Watch:
CJ Verdell Oregon RB
Matt Coral Ole Miss QB (heavy favorite)
Not many guys have really stood out thus far
My Picks:
Last week I was 9/9 (100%)
(12)Notre Dame at (18) Wisconsin: This is a very, very interesting matchup. Notre Dame quarterback Jack Cone will be playing against his old school, and the quarterback who beat him out, Graham Mertz. Notre Dame has looked shaky, and it’s hard to know much about the Badgers because they have only played two games. I think this game will be very defensive, and it will be won in the trenches. I am going to take Wisconsin to win this game because I don’t love what I have seen from Notre Dame so far.
(7) Texas A&M vs (16)Arkansas: After seeing all the amazing atmospheres last week, from Penn State to Florida, I absolutely hate that this game is being played at an NFL stadium. STOP PLAYING GAMES NOT ON CAMPUS. As I’ve mentioned, Texas A&M is way overrated, and their passing game is nonexistent. Arkansas has been so fun, and quarterback KJ Jefferson has drastically improved. Arkansas was able to dominate Texas at the line, and I think they will get Texas A&M as well. I am picking Arkansas to win and expose the Aggies.
(9)Clemson at NC State: This game is going either two ways: NC State will upset or Clemson will have a bounce back game and Dabo Swinney can say it’s a result of everyone putting them down. I am leaning towards NC State upsetting because Clemson has not been able to score points thus far. If NC State can figure out the Clemson defense and get into a shootout, they should be able to upset. This could be a game of the week.
Nebraska at (20) Michigan State: Michigan State has played great, and I thought Nebraska was dead, but then they came and almost beat Oklahoma last weekend. It is still hard to tell if Nebraska really stepped it up or if Oklahoma is not good at all. I was going to pick Michigan State to win easily, but everything I have been reading says Nebraska is going to win. However, I don’t trust Nebraska under Scott Frost and will stick with the Spartans.
(25)Kansas State at Oklahoma State: Kansas State, despite losing their starting quarterback, has started 3-0. Their defense has stolen the show so far, almost shutting out Stanford and limiting future first round pick Carson Strong, the quarterback from Nevada. Oklahoma State barely escaped Boise State in a dog fight last weekend, and they don’t have a good quarterback. Neither team has a great quarterback, so whichever one steps up will likely win. I am taking K State.
Tennessee at (11)Florida: I could see Florida having a bit of a letdown after their big Bama game, and this being closer than the spread (Florida -18.5). I want to see Emory Jones continue to play like he did last weekend to convince me that Florida is legit. Florida will win this game.
West Virginia at (4)Oklahoma: At first glance, I would give the Sooners a huge advantage for being at home, but that has not seemed to help them much this season so far. The Sooners offense has yet to be a threat with deep balls, something they normally are great at. Spencer Rattler has also been nothing special, and it is really annoying me that he is still mentioned as a top Heisman favorite. West Virginia knocked off ranked Virginia Tech last weekend, and I think they will give the Sooners another scare. However, I do think the Sooners will survive this one.
This Saturday's slate should deliver with some great games and hopefully create more chaos!
